From Balsiglia, take the paved path/gravel road to Colle dell'Albergian. The path goes up relatively gently for a while, following a stream and passing a summer farm, Bergerie del Lauson, but then starts to go up more seriously. It's a long walk through open terrain to reach the pass. You find another herd tended by some farmers in the upper valley. Closer to the pass, there are also some old military structures. Finally you reach Colle dell'Albergian (2713m).
After the pass, the path descends, again via summer farms to small town, Laux. From there, take the road, using the tunnel to cross the main valley road and ascend again a bit to Usseaux, and the posto tappa Pzit Rei.
