Day 24 : Susa to Rifugio La Riposa

A fairly straightforward ascent, but a significant gain in altitude, in particular if you continue to La Riposa. As you get higher up, the views over the Susa valley become more expansive. On clear days, you can see out to the Po plane and to Monviso.

From Susa train station follow the road to San Giuseppe and from there the trail to Rifugio Il Truc (in Trucco, 1706m). The path is easy to find, and a fairly pleasant climb. From Il Truc, continue partially along the gravel road, but mostly along tracks, up to Rifugio La Riposa (2200m), a large, but welcoming mountain hut.
