Day 30 : Noasca to San Lorenzo

From the square at Noasca, cross the stream to the Albergo La Cascata and turn L at the picnic table, to follow the Sentiero Natura and the GTA marks. The trail roughly follows the river on the right side through the hamlet of Borno and the village of Cateri, where you cross a side stream. Continue on until you reach a larger metal bridge that crosses the main river, which runs though a dramatic gorge. On the main road, turn to Fe. Turn up through the houses, follow a surfaced path that runs parallel to the main road and pick the waymarkings for a path that starts climbing up to Coste (1193m). Follow a fainter track continuing up. Soon it becomes steep and narrow, along a dry stream, sometimes requiring hands and feet to proceed. After a while, the path starts going to the right and reaches a gravel road, where you soon reach Sant'Anna (1481m), a 'sanctuario' with a small church.

From Sant'Anna, follow the path along the crest. Our guide mentions a path on the flanks of the mountain, but we followed the gravel road to the antenna and went from there to Perebella (1339m). A clear path continues down to Bertodasco (1175m) from where you continue descending, crossing below a huge set of pipes coming down from a hydroelectric plant, to arrive in Rosone. Turn left on the road for the final km or two to San Lorenzo. Posto Tappa at Albergo degli Amici (possibly closed?), or a bit further in the village, at an atmospheric farm.
