Day 31 : San Lorenzo to Talozio

This is a long day, with two climbs. The artificial lake (lago d'Eugio) after the first ridge is beautifully located, providing nice views, including Gran Paradiso.

From San Lorenzo, follow the road up into the valley and soon turn right (in Valsoni, 1085m), for a steady climb uphill. The path is nice, but steep, with occasional farmers huts, reaching La Ca, 1715m, with drinking water. Continue further up to the saddle of Alpe di Colla (2171m). Once over the ridge, the path descends quickly down a grassy slope, reaching a jeep track track, which you take left, towards Lago d'Eugio (1860m).

Cross one dam, reaching some houses, but then keep right at the foot of the second dam. Going up once more, the views constantly improve until you reach Monte Arzola (2158m). Past the ridge, there are clear paths descending. The climb is over, but it's still a long walk down the slopes, and through the forest (following a stream for the final stretch), until you reach Posio (1390m), from where you take the road right to the destination: Talosio (1225m).

There is a posto tappa in the old school building, managed by the bar in town.
